DESIGN IS A BLACK BOX

DESIGN IS A BLACK BOX

Article: By Mark Feuring - Industrial Designer - April 2002

One of the most intuitive processes for any species is to make the surrounding world simple. Predators hunt prey, and bumble bees fly around gathering pollen. Design and the organizational elements that adhere to this theory of survival apply to a world that is easy to maneuver through. With man-made adapted products that we use as tools in our everyday life, we enable ourselves to adapt, and grow with comfort. In a perfect world, we have the resources to confide the development of our ultimate tools, and as designers we strive to reach the platform of a utopian system. People will continuously grow and adapt to an ever-changing environment, society, and cataclysmic earth events.

Utilization of resources is allocation of all predicate goals in a coherent society with an ever-growing population. Research to better ways in criterion of energy will come to society through the smaller more technological world with process. One topic of manifestation is transportation energy in current contingency. Hydrothermal circulation found in deep ocean vents is one of those processes of energy development found in nature. That chemical breaking of water is an energy source on the mid-ocean seafloor. Greater studies such as those similar to naval ship system design where water is heated to super levels with expansion of nature’s raw material through nuclear methods. That super conducted energy is condensed and fed into expansion and feed methods. Fossil fuels provide a condensed and supercharged pop to the piston providing the impact for cogs and motion. Time will show betterment of development through the building blocks of methods, and tactics along with competition, using a more focused allocation to provide a new ways and means of energy and material development.

Design is so large it lay in the cosmos and outlying portions of the galaxy, only to be determined by unknown species of unknown origin trying to survive in a more adaptable surrounding. Humans take on the task every second of every day here on Earth with the aspect of problem solving and cognition. We hope that we can only function at our maximum potential to lay the foundation in an educated manner for generations to come. As the new and adaptable automobile or product enters the marketplace more refined and simplified than last year’s model, we can only hope as subjects of an American economy that marketing and free enterprise will concede to satisfy the consumer. The human society must understand we work for a higher force, whatever it may be, to commit to the best function.

Every physical being in society is a designer. With the building of a hospital in a city there is a man laying the final brick, and an architect who conceived the blueprints for the nurses and doctors who will be solving the problems. Design will never cease to end and the process has been here from the beginning of time. Human body parts design, and regenerate muscle and tissue. Even a rock is rolling, and simplifying its position by eroding and moving through a cycle or system to simplify the whole earth cycle. Will we begin to see ourselves as the human factor that we are on this fragile earth, and learn to grow and adapt with the best solutions during our time on Earth?

When commuting to work in the multiple role society that we live, such tools we have oriented to predicate reason are those involving communication. Common denominators make life more predictable such as an airline pilot studying meteorology. The human capacity to reason more variables of air flight while using radar maps and drawing associations to the intellectual property of science and exploration is works of aviators. With our commute to work we might be better satisfied in our daily routines, if we knew what was in our refrigerator before we got home. Although, the idea also is that the appliances when we get home need to be easy to clean, simple to use, and functional to maintain. Technology is part of the key to the advancement of more design to better accommodate the human machine. Design for disassembly, and the orientation to interchangeable parts for replacement, and recycling, are all advancements involving the future of tool design. Research and development continue the momentum of the offerings for the consumer at the point-of-purchase.

Toasters and area fans can be easier to maintain and clean. Materials that are applicable to food preparation can be correlated to better environment design. Interchangeable blender parts for disassembly will be more cost effective. Shape and form with the elements of line and texture will show better button interface position. Technology on the pace of demand will derive competition to a lower average, always setting the predicate for maximum potential. Solution of advancement is defining the cognitive criterion and orientation to the marketplace user group when setting an objective to resources. Tools are the advancement of daily life and the reason for more ease of human interface adaptation to environmental clauses.
